Tom Clark has been called the “Mel Tillis of Stand up Comedy”. Like Mel his slight stutter disappears when his comedic voices hit the stage. Tom has been in the spotlight for two decades. He has been paid to sing, dance, act, speak and write, but it is his love of performing stand up comedy that keeps his heart light burning.
His stand up seeds were sown in the fields of sketch comedy in the early 80’s. The hats of writer, director and performer were shared by all members in “The Boffo Players” as Clark and his fellow “Vaudevillians for the Post Atomic Era” toured clubs and colleges throughout New England. Tom left the group after earning much needed experience, confidence, and a little money!
He then broke out on his own in the stand up world of Boston. The stages there were as they are now a training ground of unmatched quality. The demands for originality in humor, presence and voice allowed Tom to hone his comedic skills that have taken him far.
Clark cut his road teeth on a trying 28-day, 28-show tour as the opener for Bill Haley’s Comets. This summer southern tour opened the door for more concert shows. He has appeared on stage with such varied sounds as the country of Tommy Cash, The Motown of The Temptations, the folk of Livingston Taylor and the rock of Robert Palmer.
Tom’s stand out stand up career has allowed him to travel coast to coast and beyond. He has tickled funny bones headlining from the sunny shores of Florida, to the plains of North Dakota, to the tundra of Canada and the cruise ships of Europe.
Clark delighted audiences nationwide on television’s “An Evening at the Improv” and has since launched another career as TV commercial spokesperson and voice over actor.
Tom’s experience, showmanship, and humor make him a voice to be heard and enjoyed throughout the national comedy scene.
Seeing Tom’s killer closing set at “The Founding Fathers Show” during the Boston International Comedy Festival this year reaffirmed why he is in our rotation as a headliner at all our venues…he consistently gets the job done.

It was headliner Tom Clark who really grabbed the great guffaws and deep belly laughs. Alternating between monologue and sharp witted impromptu repartee with the audience, Clark showed a true mastery of his art

Tom’s resourcefulness in transfiguring the traditional and time honored into something refreshingly irreverent earns laughs. Despite his evident shyness or perhaps because of it, his delivery draws hilarity.

Corporate Standup
ATTENTION CORPORATE PLANNERS! Not only do you have to organize meetings, handle phone calls and emails, plus put out all the fires that crop up around the boss, now you have to hope they laugh at your next corporate function???!!! Well remove the doubts, the fears, the prayers, and the pressures from your next event and hire Comic TTTOM CLARK!
Be it a function of a thousand Harley Davidson owners at their Northeast Regional Conference or the button down group of the Velcro Co. at their Employee Appreciation Dinner or a breakfast meeting for Cadillac car salesmen, Tom has been able to make the stiffest group snicker or the rowdiest group roar!!
HIS COMEDY
Tom’s ability to tickle any and all funny bones lies in his awesome array of talents within his comedic arsenal. He can be self deprecating, poking fun at his own flaws....“I have a stutter, every time I order a tuna fish sandwich I get two of them!” or observational, being raised the last of six in an Irish Catholic family, he’s “observed” a lot!! And then there are his big guns...his dead-on celebrity impressions. It was his “Condensed version of The Wizard of Oz” that got the attention of talent scouts and lead to his national television appearance on “An Evening At The Improv.”
GOOD, CLEAN, FUN
Tom recognizes how important it is for a workplace event to be politically correct, there is no place for the crude, insulting and vulgar humor found in so many of today’s stand up routines. Tom relies on his past 15 years of show business experience to read his audiences and give them the type of laughs, hoots and howls they deserve.
When asked, Tom will go that extra mile and incorporate employees names and situations in his routine, to add to the fun. He can also pose as a work related executive, as he did for the Retired Officers Club of Mass. when he impersonated a Pentagon Official!!
RELAX AND LAUGH
So this really is a no-brainer. Toms long list of past corporate clients and letters of recommendations will put you at ease as your boss and coworkers thank-you for that wildly entertaining evening of laughter!!
Your performance at the meeting helped us accomplish several goals…you helped us make the meeting memorable and drive home the message that Concha y Toro is an important brand, mostly, the sales force enjoyed the meeting and laughed all night.

Tom’s humor was in good taste and kept well entertained and highly amused. I would highly recommend him to other organizations who would like to “spice up” their meetings or parties as we did. I would certainly use him again.

Tom Clark provided our meeting with rip-roaring state of the art comedy that had us all in stitches. I would recommend him highly to add spice, fun and just plain laughs to any gathering.

The talent Tom needed to combine a serious talk on stuttering and a comedy routine…must be tremendous. The audience, by their loud and enthusiastic acceptance of his efforts surely agreed with me. On behalf of the whole group, many many thanks.

“What an energetic and versatile person. You were witty and intelligent which was a perfect compliment to your audience…A fun transition from the business of our meeting.”
“It was especially fun to see you work with the members of the audience. The men in the front row enjoyed the special attention, and the way you worked the big companion dog into your routine was fantastic. That sort of improvisation is especially refreshing these days. Thank you for putting a smile on our faces, and brightening the winter day. Say Hi to C.L. next time you see him. We look forward to having you visit us again.”
